The women’s grappling class will be a great way to get in shape and learn a new skill in a comfortable and non-intimidating environment, with the objective to encourage the involvement of women in a male dominant sport.

Instructor Courtney Pratt: Since the beginning of the Submission grappling/B.J.J program at the Bushido-Kai Courtney has been there, mostly among men. She has trained under Josh Albright, Steve Greencorn, Nathan Stevers and B.J.J Black Belt Kevin Taylor. Courtney has competed in grappling events around the province including, 2010 Abhaya Open Champion (gi division), 2009 Atlantic Grappling Tournament Champion, 2009 Atlantic Grappling Tournament 3rd place division (Men’s division) , 2008 Nova Scotia Provincial B.J.J champion and the first female to receive a Blue Belt in Renzo Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Atlantic Canada.
